Meet the Team

Miss Catriona

Hello, my name is Catriona – I am the Nominated Supervisor for the Centre. I currently work Monday to Thursdays. I have completed a Bachelor of Early Childhood at Q.U.T.

I am passionate about building quality relationships with all children and their families. The best learning happens in nurturing relationships. The active ingredient in brain development is relationships. Children’s brains develop best when they feel loved and secure, when they experience a warm and calm environment and when people pay attention and respond to their needs.

I am married to Bryan and we have one cheeky son called Harry.

Miss Emma – Co-Director

I have lived and grown up on the Gold Coast since 1981 and love the lifestyle and the beautiful surroundings we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep.

Working in the Early Childhood industry for me began 27 years ago.. The Early Years quickly became a passion. The importance of an exciting and positive experience for a child’s 1st(outside the family home)  care situation is second to none. I believe this can set the foundations for a life long love of learning.

For me it is such a joy seeing the growth, development and possibilities of each child in the service.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and your little learner!

Miss Jess – Toddler Room

Hello! My name is Jess and I am the Lead Educator in the Toddler Room! I have been working in the childcare sector for seven years. I have a Diploma in Child Care and am currently studying a Bachelor of Education.

I am very excited to work together with you as I get to know your child and support them on their learning journey. I believe that every child is competent and capable and when provided with the opportunity to learn through interest based experiences, they will achieve great things.

I am passionate about providing an environment that provokes the children’s imagination and inspires them to engage in open-ended discovery.

I believe fostering a child’s identity and independence is extremely important at this stage of their development and I can not wait to collaborate with you throughout this year.

Miss Bec – Junior Room

Hey, my name is Bec! I am a Lead Educator for the Centre with my Diploma in Early Learning.

The children inspire me to create enriching environments aimed to discover and explore self identity. I am passionate about children’s voices and guiding them to feel a sense of empowerment through their learning.

Other than work I enjoy being out and about with friends or family soaking up some vitamin D and taking any opportunity for adventure.

Miss Julianne – Pre-Kindy Room

My name is Julianne, I hold an Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services and I have worked in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry for almost 20 years.

What an amazing place this is to be, no day is ever the same. The children create an environment of excitement and curiosity and as an educator it is my absolute pleasure to facilitate the development, interests, creativity and well being of all our children here at Rainbow Town.

During my personal time I am always busy enjoying family time with my husband, our 4 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Miss Bridgette – Kindy Room

Kia Ora, my name is Bridgette. I grew up in New Zealand where I also studied my Bachelor of Teaching and Learning. When completing my teaching qualification, I took the opportunity to teach overseas in London for 6 years, where I worked in social services for children, primary schools and infant centres. This experience allowed me to understand diversity and developed my love of cultural learning and travel. When leaving for home, I made a stop in Australia where I have resided alongside family for the past 9 years and I have to say….I do love Australia. Since living here I have upgraded my qualification and attended Griffith University where I studied my Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education.

The last several years I have worked at Rainbow Town ELC and worked full time as the Kindergarten teacher. My passion for this age group is watching the children develop the necessary skills for school readiness. Not only is preparing children for school rewarding, it provides opportunities to work with a diverse range of families and their children while making strong connections where families and their children feel part of a nurturing and educational community. I believe for children to embrace learning it is essential for them to feel accepted and respected for who they are. Building strong relationships with children is key to a successful early learning experience and to children’s developmental milestones.

When I’m not here at Rainbow Town I love travelling, spending time with my family and friends and of course my fur babies – one cat and two dogs.

Miss Siana – Toddler Room

Hi, my name is Siana! I work 5 days a week as an Educator at Rainbow Town where I have been working for several years.

When I reflect on what I love about being an educator in our early learning environment, it’s most important to me to be involved with the children at their level as they discover their own individuality and help them to celebrate their uniqueness in every way.

On weekends and time off I love sharing time with friends and family, cooking new vegan recipes whenever I can and taking every chance to step back and enjoy the simple things that make life so beautiful.

Miss Yvette – Junior Room

Hi I’m Yvette, I am an educator who works full time and I have my Certificate 3 in childcare. I love working in this centre and I love watching and helping the children become happy and settled. I love seeing the children grow and develop throughout the year. I also love how it keeps me young! Other than work I love to hang out with friends, go to the movies, going for walks and spending time with my daughter.

Miss Christina – Pre-Kindy Room

Hello my name is Christina. I have worked at Rainbow Town since 2009 and love it.

I believe children bring so much happiness to our lives and can teach us new things, each and every day. My favourite parts of being an educator are giving the children opportunities to learn new things and that our job is fun and rewarding. I also believe in providing a safe environment, love, happiness and care to each individual child.

My background comes from Italy! I enjoy sharing the Italian language and my family traditions, such as togetherness and acceptance. My partner and my two dogs Cooper and Koda have a big place in my heart! We share our weekends exploring the Gold Coast!

Miss Sarah – Kindy Room

Hello, my name is Sarah and I am an Educator in the Pre-Kindy Room. I hold a Certificate III in children’s services as well as 9 years experience in which I have acquired many skills relevant to the industry. I am passionate about the children’s social and emotional well being. I am a nurturer to the core and engage in meaningful interactions with children that further develop long lasting relationships as their secondary carer. I uphold families as primary carers and enjoy receiving family input along each learning journey. This allows me to get to know the children as individuals taking into consideration the global contributors to their development. I enjoy learning abut the children’s home culture and diversities and encourage children to feel valued and respected within the learning environment.

In my own time I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family – husband Gareth and 2 beautiful daughters.
